In this first of a three part series on stoma types, we explore the 'Colostomy'. A colostomy is formed by bringing part of your colon (your large bowel) out on to the surface of your abdomen. We discuss what to anticipate if you are having this surgery and provide some general helpful hints on diet and pouching options for the colostomy.
